Thomas Tayebwa is a member of the Parliament of Uganda who has served since 2016, and has served as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament since 2022. He was appointed as the Government Chief Whip by Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Currently, he is serving as a Member of the 10th Parliament representing Ruhinda County North on ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ticket. He was among a handful Members of Parliament who went through the 2016 parliamentary elections unopposed. He serves on the Natural Resources, and National Economy Committees of Parliament.He also served on the eight member select committee to investigate mismanagement of Uganda Telecom Limited (UTL). He was reelected resoundingly back to Parliament, in January, 2021.
